TURAB PRIZE is a prestigious student competition by the Department of Culture & Tourism – Abu Dhabi. It’s a core part of the 14th World Congress on Earthen Architecture (TERRA 2026), a major international event. This collaboration, including ICOMOS–ISCEAH and the RIBA Gulf Chapter, offers a platform for emerging designers to contribute to a global conversation on sustainable design.
This competition challenges you to explore the theme: "Managing Change in Earthen Cultural Landscapes." You’ll create proposals for the future of earthen architecture in the Gulf, balancing cultural relevance and environmental responsibility. Your designs should respect traditional knowledge, integrate climate-resilient strategies, and propose new, innovative solutions.
Participating is a chance for global recognition. Winners of the two main categories will receive significant cash prizes, custom-carved earthen trophies, and a paid trip to the ceremony. All shortlisted entries will be showcased at the TERRA 2026 exhibition, featured in publications, and their creators will get waived event registration. This is a unique opportunity to have your work seen by international experts.
